Fire crews have hard time getting to barn blaze | News

Fire crews were busy overnight as a raging fire took over a barn along the city's southwest side.

Firefighters were called to the area near S.W. 149th St. and Penn around 2:30 a.m., but they had a hard time getting to the blaze because of a gate and heavy brush.

Authorities say they had to use power tools to cut through the chain on the fence to get to the fire.

Heavy flames could be seen pouring from the structure and it was determined to be a complete loss.

Officials say they do not know what started the fire.
