Burritos and backpack giveaway coming to OKC church | Community Spirit

A fun event that is designed to help local families get ready for the start of the school year is coming to an Oklahoma City church.

OKC Faith Church is hosting their 10th annual 'Burritos and Backpack' giveaway on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 9 a.m.

The church says it is set to give out nearly 10,000 burritos for lunch, along with backpacks filled with school supplies, to 5,000 metro families during the event.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and lasts until around 1 p.m, or until they are out of backpacks.

In addition to the giveaways, Rumble with the Oklahoma City Thunder will make an appearance, along with ACRODUNK.

Organizers say doors open at 9 a.m. for the first presentation, which attendance is required before anyone can receive the free food or school supplies.

Additional presentations will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
